Macau weather by month
2006-2025, 20 years of records · Not a forecast
Macau has a humid subtropical climate that splits into a dry half and a wet half. From November to February the days are mostly clear and dry, good for walking. From May to September it turns muggy, with frequent showers. Typhoons come from summer into early autumn, and once a signal No. 8 goes up, ferries to Hong Kong and Shenzhen stop and buses are suspended. Resorts and malls give you plenty of indoor options, but check the weather before a day trip from Hong Kong. Lunar New Year, Labour Day on May 1 and National Day on October 1 are public holidays, so book rooms early around them.
February, November and December scored best when warmth and rain days were weighed together. Rain clustered in August (up to 15 rain days) and fell to 3 rain days in February and December.
