Hanoi has four seasons. May to September is hot, humid and showery, October to November is a drier autumn, and December to February is dry and cool. From February to April a fine drizzle can come and go for days. October to November and March to April are usually named the best windows to visit. Typhoons affect northern Vietnam from July to November, and Ha Long Bay cruises are sometimes cancelled between July and September.
