Matsuyama is a city on the Seto Inland Sea side of Ehime on Shikoku. Winters are mostly sunny, rain peaks in June and July, and August tends to be dry on the Inland Sea side. The Dogo Onsen Honkan finished its conservation work and fully reopened on July 11, 2024. With hot springs, the castle and Shikoku pilgrimage temples to visit, a wet day is easy to turn into an onsen day. A big festival comes in autumn. Staying near Dogo Onsen is convenient.
