Qingdao weather by month
2006-2025, 20 years of records · Not a forecast
Qingdao is a port city on the Yellow Sea. Rain concentrates in July and August, and spring is fairly dry. Sea fog is frequent from about April to August. Bathing beaches traditionally open around July 1, so before then coastal walks suit better than swimming. The International Beer Festival runs from mid-July to mid-August, the busiest stretch of the year. In winter, flocks of gulls gather at Zhanqiao Pier. The sea wind makes the coast feel cooler than the same temperature inland, so pack an extra layer.
On the record, June, September and October were the most forgiving months for visiting Qingdao, judged on warmth and rain together. The wet and dry seasons were distinct: rain days bottomed out in January (1) and peaked in July and August (8).
