Jeju weather by month
2006-2025, 20 years of records · Not a forecast
The figures on this page are for Jeju City on the island's north coast. The island varies a lot: Seogwipo on the south side is a little milder in winter and gets about twice as much January sunshine, while Jeju City takes the northwest winter wind head-on and is often grey and gusty. The upper slopes of Hallasan are far colder and get deep snow every winter.
Korea's rainy season (jangma) starts in Jeju before the rest of the country, usually in the second half of June, and ends around July 20. Typhoons pass between July and September, most often in August. Wind and storms can ground flights and ferries, so keep a spare day before your flight out.
Weighing daytime warmth against rain days, May, June and October came out as the easiest months. October was the quiet stretch with 6 rain days, against 10 in August and September.
