Singapore in March

The Northeast Monsoon ends in early March and the heat builds. Late in the month the wind weakens and afternoon thunder becomes more common. Humidity rises and you feel sticky as soon as you step out of air conditioning. Between wet and dry, it is an easy time to plan.

Singapore in March ran hot: 32°C by day and 25°C at night. By midday the shade was the best seat in town. About 10 days a month saw rain, enough that a wet-weather plan was worth having. The average is 10, but individual years ran from 3 (2019) to 18 (2009).

Highs topped 30°C on 28 days of the month on average. Mixing in indoor stops at midday made sense. Wet days did not mess around: about 20 mm each, the kind of rain that drives you into a doorway.
