Seoul weather by month
2006-2025, 20 years of records · Not a forecast
Seoul swings between a cold, dry winter and a hot, humid summer. Most of the year's rain falls in summer. The jangma rainy season usually starts in late June and lasts until late July, and heavy downpours keep coming in August after it ends.
April, when the cherry trees bloom, and late October, when the leaves turn, are the easiest months for walking around. From late winter through spring, fine dust and yellow dust can haze the sky, so pack a mask. Lunar New Year and Chuseok follow the lunar calendar and move every year, and many restaurants close over those holidays.
May and September gave the best mix of comfortable warmth and few rain days in Seoul. To dodge the rain, January and February (3 rain days) was the stretch to look at, not July (14).
