Barcelona weather by month
2006-2025, 20 years of records · Not a forecast
Barcelona has a Mediterranean climate with mild winters and hot, humid summers. It is not a rainy city overall, but autumn rain often comes in short, heavy bursts. The beach season runs from June to September, and the sea is warmest around August. In other months the trip is mostly city sightseeing. Pickpocketing is a known problem, so wear your bag in front on La Rambla and on the metro. Sant Joan's Eve on 23 June and the La Mercè festival in late September fill the city and rooms book early. Midsummer sun is strong, so bring a hat and sunscreen.
May, June and October scored best when warmth and rain days were weighed together. Rain clustered in March, April, September and October (up to 6 rain days) and fell to 2 rain days in July.
