Lisbon weather by month
2006-2025, 20 years of records · Not a forecast
Lisbon has one of the milder winters among mainland European capitals, and summers are hot and dry. Rain falls mostly in autumn and winter, with November and December the wettest. From early June to mid September it almost never rains. The city is built on hills, so there is plenty of climbing and wear comfortable shoes. In June the Santos Populares festivals fill the alleys with grilled sardines and rooms book early. Stone streets heat up at midsummer midday, so bring a hat and water. Even in summer a thin layer is welcome in the evening. Cobbled lanes are uneven.
May to July scored best when warmth and rain days were weighed together. Rain clustered in January and November (up to 10 rain days) and fell to 1 rain day in July and August.
