Phuket weather by month
2006-2025, 20 years of records · Not a forecast
Phuket has a dry season from December to March and a southwest monsoon rainy season from about May to October. Rain is most frequent in September and October, and April and November are the transition months.
In the rainy season, waves get strong on the west-coast beaches (Patong, Karon, Kata) and red flags go up on many days. A red flag means do not go in the water. There are clear days even in the wet months, so mix indoor and outdoor plans about half and half.
On the record, December to February were the most forgiving months for visiting Phuket, judged on warmth and rain together. The wet and dry seasons were distinct: rain days bottomed out in February (3) and peaked in October (19).
