Porto in January

One of the rainiest months, with wind-driven rain that can turn an umbrella inside out. Bolo-rei, the kings' cake, is eaten until 6 January. Few tourists mean the port wine cellars and riverside restaurants are relaxed. A waterproof jacket is a must.
